About Hooters

Our History

The very first Hooters restaurant opened October 4, 1983, in Clearwater, Florida, USA. The Original Six founders were detained for impersonating restaurateurs, but fortunately for North America, they were later allowed to continue running their business in peace. Since its beginnings, the Hooters concept has remained true to its early roots, while continuing to grow and modernize as a company. The current logo, uniform, menu and ambiance are all similar to what was found in the original restaurant. This consistency has served the company well, earning Hooters a high ranking amongst the industry’s growth leaders and the continued success of the franchise.

The establishments continue to attract new visitors across Canada and the US, using a casual and fun beach theme in the restaurant, music, and sports on large flat screens. Aside from Hooters notable original chicken wings, diners can also enjoy a wide variety of items on the menu, including seafood, sandwiches, burgers and salads.

There have been many imitators over the years, but we remain the genuine original.

While building on the success and legacy of our original hot wings, seafood and sandwiches, we’ve been working to expand and evolve our menu to include delicious appetizers, fresh salads, and signature burgers. In addition to our ice-cold beer selection, we’ve expanded our beverage menu to include a new variety of specialty drinks, wines and cocktails, to suit the tastes of all our guests.

And we didn’t stop with the food and drinks. We like sports as much as you, so we installed bigger, badder, flatter screens to watch them. Wherever you’re sitting, you’ll have front row seats to the game.
